Hindi Word in English: Sari
The English word SARI is a word adopted from Hindi. The Hindi word sari in turn comes from Sanskrit sati, meaning "a strip of cloth" (via Prakrit sadi). You can read about the many different styles of saris in this Wikipedia article.
